Define the complete packed product and intended distribution route before selecting a test proposal. Give the responsible reviewer the contents, packaging components, handling context and evaluation objective. A box format or fragile label alone is insufficient to choose an appropriate scope.
The Mailer with Fitted Insert can help identify the outer, insert and product arrangement to describe in a test enquiry. Its concept image is not a distribution-test result or confirmation that the proposed system protects your product.
The output is a planning record for the relevant source or laboratory. It should not claim a particular procedure is correct, that Packrivo has a certified lab or that a configuration passed testing.
Describe the system that will be evaluated
List the product, retail pack, holders, outer carton and closure method. Include actual dimensions and weights with their sources. Keep component and product revisions named.
State the known route and handling steps. If they are incomplete, mark the missing parts. A proposal for one parcel route should not automatically become evidence for another distribution pattern.
ISTA’s procedure overview distinguishes screening and simulation categories with different scopes. That supports asking a scope-specific question, while procedure selection belongs with the appropriate responsible source.
The packed-system guide helps keep a concept separate from the actual complete configuration. A decorative box image is not a test specimen record.
Name the evaluation objective and owner
Describe the question the evaluation should answer, such as comparing a proposed complete pack against stated acceptance requirements. Keep appearance, product condition and other criteria identified by their responsible owners.
Ask the reviewer what method and evidence are appropriate. Record the proposed provider and the basis for its involvement. Do not claim qualifications, accreditation or capacity without verification.
| Test-planning field | Input | Responsible confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Packed system | Product and all packaging revisions | Buyer/supplier configuration owners |
| Route | Known modes and handling pattern | Relevant logistics source |
| Objective | Question and required acceptance scope | Decision owner |
| Method proposal | Named procedure and applicability | Qualified responsible reviewer |
| Specimens/evidence | Configuration and records required | Evaluation provider |
| Result scope | Report and decisions it can support | Review owner, after actual work |
Keep an unselected method marked as proposed or open. A familiar procedure number should not be inserted merely because it appears on another supplier’s report.
Follow a hypothetical outer-pack proposal
Suppose a gift brand has a presentation box, holder and outer carton but no confirmed evaluation scope. The buyer lists the complete configuration and known route, then asks the responsible reviewer for a method proposal.
The source may request more information about closure, contents or handling. Those gaps become named actions in the planning record. The buyer doesn’t describe the packaging as tested while that exchange is still a proposal.
If the product or outer pack changes before evaluation, the record updates the configuration and asks whether the method proposal remains applicable. Selection and actual execution remain separate stages.
Use a scope-specific next question
Ask: ‘Please propose an evaluation scope for system PS1 on route R1 against the stated objective.’ It identifies the system and job. A claim that a material is strong leaves the test-planning question unanswered.
After actual work, review the report’s specimen and method scope before relying on the result. A report for a similar box does not automatically cover PS1.
This original record coordinates inputs and responsibilities. It does not replace a published procedure, qualified technical judgement or verified result.
Send the complete system record
Bring system identities, route details, objectives and missing inputs through Packrivo’s enquiry. The next response should identify the appropriate responsible evaluation path and what evidence is needed before any result can be used.
Complete the system description before requesting a program
Invented system PS-H identifies product P1, retail box B1, holder H1, outer carton O1 and closure CL1. Assume packed dimensions 200 x 150 x 80 mm and mass 0.70 kg solely for this record. Route R1's service and handling remain unknown, and the acceptance objective has not been defined.
Scroll horizontally if columns extend beyond the view.
| Field | Filled hypothetical entry | Unresolved input |
|---|---|---|
| System | P1/B1/H1/O1/CL1 | Exact specifications and assembly |
| Packed envelope | 200x 150x 80 mm;0.70 kg assumed | Actual measurement and source |
| Route R1 | Route reference only | Modes, service and handling |
| Objective | No pass criteria supplied | Responsible owner defines scope |
| Method/specimens | Not selected | Appropriate provider proposal |
The five references are identity categories, not five physical pieces. A box can have several parts, and a tape-roll symbol does not define its application or quantity. Obtain the complete assembled description rather than treating the component legend as a tested specimen.
The assumed envelope supports a concrete question but selects no test procedure or sample count. Ask the responsible provider which additional route, contents and acceptance information is needed. Keep the reply separate from actual evaluation, and leave results blank until work occurs. The CSV includes the filled hypothetical record and an entirely blank actual-project row; neither certifies PS-H or establishes a Packrivo laboratory service.
Download the packaging distribution test planning record (.csv). HYPOTHETICAL rows are invented examples. Use ACTUAL_BLANK for permitted project inputs; replace that row label only when recording actual facts. Empty evidence, observation and date fields mean unknown or not performed, never acceptance. Keep checkpoints and revisions separate.
Send the complete identified system, actual packed measurements and route/objective gaps before requesting the appropriate evaluation proposal. Packrivo coordinates independent suppliers. These records establish no supplier offer, service availability or MOQ exception; its published baseline is 500 pieces per product/design.
