Compare a finished gift parcel with the limits published by the locker operator and market being used. InPost UK’s public help page lists a largest-parcel limit of 41 × 38 × 64 cm and a maximum accepted weight of 15 kg. Meeting those stated bounds alone does not guarantee an available suitable compartment or a practical fit.

The official InPost UK locker-size page also says not to force a parcel into a space that is too snug. Its figures are operator-specific parcel limits, not universal dimensions for every locker system or a measured door-opening geometry.

Measure the completed parcel

Use the product, retail pack, transport support, closure and any outer wrapping in the intended finished state. Record outer dimensions and mass with their units, configuration reference and actual measurement basis.

An empty carton size can differ from the finished envelope if the loaded pack bulges or its closure changes the outside. A bare gift-box dimension also excludes the transport layer where one is required.

The dated carrier-rule comparison explains why country, service and measured parcel must remain connected. A general courier category does not settle the physical handover condition at a nominated locker.

Apply the published limit to a hypothetical parcel

Assume the measured example is a finished parcel 40 × 37 × 63 cm at 8 kg, using the stated orientation. Another proposal has a corresponding first dimension of 43 cm. Both proposals and measurements are invented.

Comparison input Published InPost UK largest-parcel bound Hypothetical result
First corresponding dimension 41 cm 40 cm is below the bound; 43 cm exceeds it
Second corresponding dimension 38 cm 37 cm is below the bound
Third corresponding dimension 64 cm 63 cm is below the bound
Parcel weight 15 kg maximum 8 kg is below the maximum

The first set of dimensions and weight falls within the listed numeric bounds. That arithmetic is not an actual insertion trial. It does not show the door’s usable opening, clearance for fingers, compartment availability or acceptance of the parcel’s contents.

Do not rotate or force an oversize proposal as a way to assume the published limit has been met. Confirm the actual operator’s applicable instructions for the service.

Preserve protection when comparing another pack

A smaller outer must still provide an appropriate complete configuration for the gift. Removing necessary support to make a parcel fit a size figure can leave another unresolved requirement.

The dispatch-box size comparison starts from complete order configurations. Use that approach when considering a different qualified pack, rather than changing only an empty-box dimension.

An alternate staffed handover or another actual service may be available when the locker route is unsuitable. Those options and their costs must be confirmed; this article offers no booking or price comparison.

Recheck the operator before shipment

Retain the named UK operator, public reference, access date, parcel measurements and remaining questions. The help page was checked on 14 October 2026 and displays no identified publication or effective date for these limits. Recheck when arranging the real service.

Packrivo can coordinate the dimensions and packaging questions through a packaging project inquiry. Service availability, content restrictions, actual facility access and shipment acceptance remain separate matters for the responsible operator and shipping owner.

Keep the possible measurement range beside the parcel reading

A point reading below a published limit does not describe every possible value in an uncertain record. Extend the original 40 × 37 × 63 cm parcel with an invented interval of plus or minus 1.5 cm for each corresponding dimension. Its upper values are 41.5, 38.5 and 64.5 cm, each 0.5 cm beyond the stated 41, 38 and 64 cm bounds. This raises an unresolved possible-exceedance question; it does not prove the actual parcel is oversized.

For a separate invented proposal, use nominal readings of 39 × 36 × 62 cm with plus or minus 0.5 cm. Upper values are 39.5, 36.5 and 62.5 cm, leaving 1.5 cm of numerical headroom in each corresponding comparison. An assumed 8 kg reading with plus or minus 0.2 kg has an upper value of 8.2 kg against 15 kg.

D1, D2 and D3 name corresponding dimensions in this stated orientation. They do not assign an operator’s door-opening geometry. The intervals are educational inputs, not calibrated uncertainty estimates, manufacturing tolerances, required clearances or carrier allowances.

Request a complete measurement record and the responsible shipping owner’s response before changing the pack. Even a range wholly inside the listed numbers does not establish available compartment space, hand access, contents acceptance or protection. Any different outer configuration needs its own review; do not remove necessary support or force a snug parcel.

Download the InPost UK parcel illustrative measurement interval record (.csv). It includes the original table fields and scenarios alongside the added relationships. HYPOTHETICAL rows are editorial examples or required review scopes, not actual records. Actual quantity, configuration, component and file identities, materials, process, specification, copy, method, condition, observation, owner, decision, evidence and dates are blank. ACTUAL_BLANK is a separate empty starting row; enter permitted project evidence before using an actual record. A blank means unknown.

Source scope checked 17 October 2026: InPost UK’s current public help page gives the stated largest-parcel dimensions and 15 kg maximum; a reliable separate publication/effective date was not displayed. The ranges here are not carrier tolerances or insertion evidence and do not apply to all operators. The added configurations and calculations are hypothetical, with actual evidence and decisions pending.

What this changes in a packaging enquiry

Use the finished parcel dimensions, including the actual protective outer, when selecting a packaging configuration for a locker service. Confirm the applicable operator, market and current published limit before purchasing. A fit calculation against one hypothetical parcel does not establish acceptance by the carrier. A relevant configuration to compare is the Front-Tuck Corrugated Mailer; it is a concept reference, not confirmed suitability.
