Treat this as a packaging option until the supplier confirms the material, side folds, seam and closure for the project.
Define fills instead of an unlimited size range
The expandable kraft mailer reference describes an expandable form and asks for gusset depth. Request the actual folded and expanded geometry for your proposal. Keep the usable filled envelope separate from flat outside dimensions.
Name the thinner and thicker contents sets. Include all wrapping and backing components in each. Record where the highest point sits so the comparison doesn’t reduce a shaped bundle to one thickness number.
For a hypothetical gift-print order, one fill may contain cards and another cards plus a booklet. Keep their contents lists and orientations distinct throughout the closing review.
Check closure after the folds expand
Load the actual bundle and form the gussets as proposed. Observe the closing flap before pressing or joining it. Ask the supplier to identify the intended receiving area and closing method.
Compare that reach at both fills. If staff need to change a fold position or compress the contents, record the action and confirm whether it belongs in the instruction. A closed photo alone can conceal the change.
The general paper mailer option is useful for the wider outer-pack brief. This configuration adds the expanded-fill relationship to the closing surface.
Use an expanded-fill record
Keep one bag proposal revision and named contents identities in the table. Add dimensions only from the actual drawing or recorded measurement.
| Relationship | Thin fill | Thick fill |
|---|---|---|
| Contents | Complete components and orientation | Complete additions and orientation |
| Gusset | Final side-fold position | Final side-fold position |
| Closing reach | Flap against proposed receiving area | Flap against proposed receiving area |
| Outside label area | Usable final surface | Usable final surface |
| Customer opening | Grip and access route | Grip and access route |
A missing closing reach is a configuration issue to discuss, not an invitation to invent a stronger adhesive. Ask which geometry or method the supplier proposes to change.
Record supplied state and complete-pack requirements
Confirm which seams and closure parts arrive prepared. Identify who opens the gussets, loads the parcel and closes it. Keep the proposed shipping-label surface separate from the decorative artwork face.
In the hypothetical record, call the thicker fill F2 and its closing observation CR2. A response about F1 doesn’t close CR2. Review the revised proposal with F2 in the same orientation before changing its status.
The local record concerns fit and closure action. A protection or distribution requirement needs a separate evaluation of the complete system, with contents, handling route and responsible evidence identified.
Send both filled states
Submit the contents lists, expanded views, closing questions, quantity and destination through Get a Quote. Packrivo’s minimum is 500 pieces per design. Final construction, sample scope, pricing and timing are confirmed for the project.
