This concept illustrates a reinforced tape layer stack and application setup. The offered tape, dispenser and carton compatibility are confirmed for the project.
Keep the layer stack in the tape identity
The original IPG water-activated tape data sheet identifies paper plies, a laminating adhesive, a water-activated adhesive and reinforcement directions. Its nominal values are not a generic specification. Ask the offered supplier for the actual grade and current sheet that apply to your seal.
Record the tape width, paper construction and reinforcement arrangement as proposal fields. Keep the laminating layer distinct from the adhesive that meets the carton. This avoids comparing tape descriptions that name only the visible paper surface.
Mark the carton’s final surface and seam arrangement. Include both top and bottom seal operations if required. Identify the dispenser or wetting/cutting setup with its owner, and request the actual maker’s application/storage instructions for the offered grade.
Review activation as part of the packing operation
The packing owner should prepare and apply the tape using the confirmed setup and instructions. Record the application conditions and any surface preparation required by the actual proposal. Locate seam coverage and edge seating in photographs of the same carton revision.
Compare the pressure-sensitive paper sealing tape as a different adhesive/application route. Water activation and reinforced multi-ply construction introduce their own preparation and material fields. Keep those differences in the response table rather than assuming one tape is always stronger.
If an observed seal needs review, ask which grade, activation or surface field should change. Retain the earlier conditions and sample before requesting another trial. The buyer should receive a specific response to the located issue, not a broad assertion about reinforced tape.
Use a layer and activation record
This hypothetical carton-sealing record leaves operating values to the actual maker and setup owner.
| Construction or action | Input to identify | Evidence to return |
|---|---|---|
| Paper plies | Offered top/bottom paper construction | Grade technical sheet |
| Reinforcement | Named material/direction arrangement | Supplier layer description |
| Adhesives | Laminating versus water-activated layer | Offered construction identity |
| Preparation | Intended wetting/cutting setup | Qualified packing-owner confirmation |
| Seam review | Final carton surface and recorded conditions | Located coverage/edge observation |
Keep the seal proposal with the packing scope
The tape supplier confirms its grade and instructions. The packing owner confirms the preparation setup and the operation used on the carton. The buyer retains the sample evidence and decides whether another trial or another seal construction is needed. Storage and expiry questions should follow the offered component’s instructions rather than being generalized across packaging materials.
